The land of the pharaohs is a lot more than just pyramids and tombs….
Egypt is on most people’s bucket list. The tangible history here is unlike anywhere else, and you can see vivid paintings, deep tombs and towering structures that are over four thousand years old.
However, Egypt isn’t only about history, dig a little deeper and you’ll find epic slot canyons, world-class snorkelling, vibrant culture and - once you get past the touts - some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.

Top Tip: Download Uber, as this will save you a lot of the stress of haggling for taxis in Cairo. Sadly, it doesn’t work anywhere else but Alexandria.
Currency: Egyptian pound, but some places accept US Dollars
Visa: Many countries can get a 30 day visa on arrival for USD $25 (Sharm El Sheikh is visa free), but you can buy a visa online ahead of time for up to 3 months.

Off Season: June - September
Walk My World Cost Index: $$ - Egypt caters for all budgets and can be pretty cheap if you are willing to hunt out no frills accommodation and local restaurants.
